New Hampshire Sea Grant solicits and trains volunteers for the UNH Marine Docents program along the seacoast of New Hampshire and southern Maine. Docents teach in schools and on boats, educate community groups, and guide visitors at two local nature
centers — the Seacoast Science Center at Odiorne Point in Rye, and the Sandy Point Discovery Center on Great Bay.

A new program developed by New Hampshire Sea Grant Extension trains volunteer divers to identify and track invasive marine species. This training workshop will teach divers to identify the most likely species to invade New Hampshire waters. If the divers see a species from the "Most Wanted" list, they are instructed to report their observations online to New Hampshire Sea Grant, which will in turn contact New Hampshire Fish and Game.
